Design Inspirations
Head north for Okinawa's true vistas! Nago beckons just off the Express Way's northern exit, a gateway to the wilds of northern Okinawa. You'll be amazed by the bay's hues, in contrast to the dull, same-height-trees lining the never-ending roadway. Before the Express Way, Busena was the gateway to Okinawa's north. Here, coastal roads ascend, turning giant rocks into rubble, and the Ryukyus--a small island with no resources--was a Pacific powerhouse thanks to its port facilitating maritime trade between countries around the South China Sea. Bankoku Shinryo Kan (万国津梁館) stands at Busena, literally "The Bridge to Ten Thousand Nations." In 2000, the G8 Summit gathered here--bringing together the world once more!
